These images, which I call contemporary icons, are depictions of ways we can rest in God in our lives. Each icon is intended to help you feel the presence of God and to experience a deeper level of calm. Focus on any aspect of the image and let it settle you, let it take you closer to how your story interacts with it, let it point you to God. There are scripture passages that accompany each image. Use them if they help you make contact with the icon more easily. Sometimes the image stays with you for days and takes you deeper as you let it sink in. Take each icon into your soul slowly and prayerfully.

For more icons go to the icons category on this site and absorb the wonder of God in this gift of beauty.
